SIVAJI GANESAN - LEGEND IN ACTING

As a lonely elderly man in Andaman kadali
In ‘Andaman Kadali’, Sivaji constantly regrets for missing his wife Sujata with “ava ponaparum enakkum vaizhakiyele enna irukku”. When his daughter snubs him for insulting the would-be-son-in-law Sivaji recovers and says in his unmatchable style: “etho unarchivasathila pesitenma, mannichuddu. He also displays his comic sense soon when he was reminded by his daughter “Appa Sappadu”. Sivaji exclaims: “O Sappadu”.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xvFu-gm0UuY
As a rich industrialist in Unakkaka Naan

In ‘Unakkaka Naan’. Hindi-version of ‘Namak Haram’, Sivaji Ganesan and Gemini Ganesan did the role of Amitabh Bacchan and Rajesh Khanna. When Gemini refuses to indentify the workers, who attacked him for betrayal, Sivaji shouts at queer pitch: entha rascal(Gemini) mele kaiya vecchadu”, walking the entire stretch, similar to Amitabh’s shouting from roof-top “Kis saalene somuka uppar hath diya tha”. Both Sivaji and Amitabh excelled in that particular scene. Similarly when Sivaji quips: “ennaivida kettavan yarum irukka mudiyathu’ in a particular scene, it also reminds us of Amitabh’s dialogue in Namak Haram: “Mujse burakoi nahi hoga”. Similarly, in the climax scene, when Sivaji’s father tearfully asks his imprisoned son on what prompted him to apportion the blame on himself for the murder of Gemini, he answers philosophically: “en appavado thavarukku naan payan prachayathittam seiyakku”, similar to Amitabh’s dialogue: “ek babka prayachit beta nahi kar sakta”. It was difficult to distiniguish between the performances of both the brilliant actors, but Sivaji, stole the show with his hand-eye co-ordination and revealing expressions in varied fashions.
Playing triple role father and two sons in Trishulam
The film ‘Trishulam’ was Sivaji’s 200th film. He had portrayed all the three characters with uncanny anticipation. When the two sons Prabhu and Ramkumar come to know about their father (Sivaji)’s whereabouts they joy knew no bound. The father accepts the challenge of villain Nambiar in a particular scene with: “adharmam ennikkume nilachathille”. The sons terrify the villains with “irandu kaigal naanthane, pagaivarkale odungal, puligal irundu varuginrana”. Prabhu and Ramkumar displayed contrasting style of acting.
